Wonkey Donkey’s Story
Wonkey Donkey is a bit of a miracle. He was found by a couple Helen and Peter who had been volunteering at the hospital. They found him in the road after being hit by a vehicle a few days earlier, and was in a very sorry state but we wanted to give him a chance. After emergency treatment to stabilise him we started on a rehabilitation programme of massage and physiotherapy. Each day he made more progress. It was a fantastic moment when 10 days later he was able to stand up straight by himself and eventually start walking once more.
Today, unless you already knew his story, you wouldn’t know anything was wrong with him apart from a slight swagger. He’s been known to given a sneaky kick as well, should anything come between him and the girls and has a tremendous strength of spirit.
