Ginger suffering from malnutrition, August 2005
Ginger’s Story
We rescued Ginger in July 2005. He was about 15 months old and was suffering from permanent hind limb paralysis. He and was severely underweight as he found it difficult to move around and get food quickly enough.
He now gets a regular diet and lots of TLC and is very much the leader of all the other dogs at our shelter. He is well-known as our resident yoga instructor-come-ballet dancer due to the odd poses he strikes with his rigid hind legs.
We will often see him ’strike a pose’ with a leg in the air or sitting in an odd position. Despite how this looks Ginger has adapted extremely well to his condition and has very strong front limbs now that take most of his weight. He is pretty active and loves to keep an eye on the daily goings on at the shelter.
Ginger - one year later after lots of food and TLC
