Our big hearted scouser
Bob‘s devotion to dogs started at a very early age in his native Birkenhead when he started taking in strays – in those days there were many roaming his streets.
So Santa came early to TOLFA when our latest volunteer arrived at our shelter that first day, a few days before Christmas wearing a broad white smile, a red Liverpool rugby shirt and heaving a huge suitcase full to the brim with metal tubes and wheels to make dog carts for the paralysed, chews, leads, blankets and Roses chocolates for the staff.

Bob comes bearing gifts
Without delay he set about walking the rescue kennel dogs, cuddling the feeble pups and breaking up dog fights with some very firm words! He quietly does physio on P1, who is a tiny 3 legged chap, and through his diligence and observation has ensured that some of the most vulnerable pups have been dripped and got through another cold night.

He’s one of life’s do-ers. He has sponsored, together with his wife Maureen and friends and colleges back home, a new fenced off area for rescue dogs needing sunshine and sand outdoors for their healing process. He fretted about the puppies mingling with the older dogs or getting out onto the road, so his wall round the puppy house is well underway.
He has an easy jovial manner with the staff, who have great respect for him and particularly his fascinating i-touch phone, with some rather sassy promos on it!
Bob has been coming to Mumbai for business for some years now and was always very moved by the plight of the street dogs he saw and searched online for a way he could help them and lucky for us, The Tree of Life For Animals popped up in his search.
Bob and Maureen will surely be back to our hospital to carry on their special contribution to TOLFA.
