Biscuit treat in the afternoon sun When Jo came over to volunteer with us in October 2009, she took heed of our Wish List and arranged to bring over some heatpads. Squirrel Nutkin relaxing At the start of the year one of our volunteers, Clara held an appeal for people to donate dog collars and leads to our shelter. This would enable our staff and Project Raja Volunteers to take all our canine patients out for their much needed daily walks. Dogs suffering with mange is an extremely common sight in India (and indeed many other parts of the world). Mange is a skin condition caused by mites, which cause allergic reactions and creates incredibly itchy, flaky skin and results in hair loss. Treatment can be with a variety of products such as medicated shampoos and [...] Early one morning we were called to a rescue in a village just outside Pushkar – the complaint was that a calf had fallen down a well. Our rescue vehicle, on another rescue at the time, dropped off that complaint at the hospital before rushing off with all manner of ropes and equipment thought [...] Heather is a veterinary student who volunteered with us in Autumn 2007. During her time with us, she wrote about a case that was particularly close to her heart. A monkey that had been hit by a vehicle came into the hospital.
