First pictures of our new rescue vehicle

As part of the agreement that has been signed with the local Ajmer Municipality for stray dog control through our humane sterilization and rabies vaccination programme, the government has provided TOLFA with a brand new vehicle in which to catch the dogs.

Our new rescue vehicle

This vehicle is provided to us for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is used for both catching the 20 dogs a day running through the programme, but also to respond to emergency calls from the general public should they see a dog in distress or has rabies.

As with anything in India that is a gift, a blessing is done both to say thank you and for it to bring good fortune for you in the future, so after decorating it with red dye and rice, eating of the traditional sweets, cutting of the ribbon and driving over a coconut the vehicle was finally felt to be fit for the road!!
